Embracing & Overcoming Challenges with Jessica Cox
We are faced with challenges every day of our life, this is something that we all have in common. Even though our challenges may be different, we can find comfort in knowing that we are never alone in our struggles.?

A person that has overcome a significant challenge in her life is Jessica Cox. Jessica was born with no arms but she never let that defeat her. Instead, she chose to view her disability as something she would conquer. Growing up as a child and constantly hearing ?you can?t do that? could have easily influenced her into adulthood, but Jessica is using her experiences to inspire others now as a motivational speaker. She has even earned her black belt in two different forms of martial arts and learned how to fly a plane using her feet!
When a challenge comes up it is human nature to feel defeated and let that consume us. Instead of allowing the negative thoughts to come in, embrace the challenge and decide that the challenges of life aren?t going to hold you back. Life will always have ups and downs, we can?t change that, but we can change how we view these obstacles and use them to better ourselves.?
Overcoming fears can be a huge challenge for some, it can be so difficult to put yourself in a position where you are forced to face your fears. Jessica believes that in some cases, fear is rooted in a lack of knowledge. She says that to conquer your fears, you should take the time to learn everything you can about it. A fear of Jessica?s was flying, but through learning about planes and how they work she was able to overcome her fear and even become a pilot. She took her fear and turned it into empowerment.?
Every day we should do something hard, whether it is working towards overcoming a fear, a challenge, or working towards a goal. Creating good habits like this ultimately leads to personal growth and development. It is important to create an ?I can do this? attitude, despite any of the negativity that you may be surrounded by. Through positive affirmations, you can create a positive attitude and reassure yourself that you can do whatever you put your mind to.
Something that Jessica also mentioned, is to remember that ?disability doesn?t mean inability?. If you are living with a disability, don?t underestimate what you are able to do. If you are an able body, don?t underestimate what others can do based on their appearance. It is about thinking outside of the box and modifying things to work for you. If you can overcome your personal disabilities or disadvantages, you have the opportunity to pave the way for others in similar situations as you.
Embracing your challenges and fears can help you overcome them, facilitate your personal growth, and even inspire others. Take the ups and downs of life and see them as opportunities and use them to your advantage to build yourself up.?
A ?yes? attitude isn?t something that comes naturally to everyone but it is something that we can all develop through personal development and surrounding ourselves with positivity.?
